Patiala, Oct 29 - DAV Public School Patiala hosted its annual Model United Nations Conference which provided a unique platform for students to discuss global issues, develop leadership skills and promote collaboration.
DAV Secretariat and Department of Social Sciences had the honour of hosting 380 delegates from Punjab and Haryana and 7 committees comprising over 20 schools. The event was inaugurated by Group Captain Ajay Bhardwaj, Colonel Amitesh Verma, Dr. Ratinder Kaur, Punjabi University, Patiala and Mrs. Anu Tiwari. Principal Vivek Tiwari emphasised the importance of creating global awareness among young leaders.
He said, “MUN is an excellent opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of international relations, diplomacy and the importance of collaboration in solving global challenges.”
Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi MP (18th Lok Sabha), Chief Guest on the second day congratulated the participants and organisers and said that DAV (MUN) provides a unique platform to encourage the next generation to gain a better understanding of international diplomacy and global issues.
Jaswant Singh (Former Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala) was also present at the closing ceremony.
