DC redefined the responsibilities of Nodal Officers-in-charge of sub-divisions to monitor stubble burning cases.

SAS Nagar, October 29, 2024: Redefining the responsibilities of nodal officers in charge of sub-divisions for monitoring stubble burning cases, Deputy Commissioner Ms. Ashika Jain has issued revised orders of duty during the leave of ADC (J) Viraj S. Tidke. Issuing the revised order, Deputy Commissioner Jain said that now Kharar sub-division will be monitored by nodal officer Sonam Chaudhary ADC (D), Derabassi sub-division will be monitored by Municipal Corporation Commissioner T Benith and Joint Commissioner Deepankar Garg. While Mohali sub-division will be monitored by SDM Damandeep Kaur.

These nodal officers will ensure action against the responsible persons in accordance with the provisions of the National Green Tribunal. Apart from this, these nodal officers will also make farmers aware about the dangers of stubble burning. All the officers and departments deployed to prevent incidents of stubble burning have been asked to cooperate with the nodal officers in charge.
