SAS Nagar, October 12, 2024:- SAS Nagar district Mandis has witnessed the arrival of 37332 MT of paddy by Saturday evening, out of which 34702 MT produce has been purchased by the Agencies, said the Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain, here, today. Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner said that all 18 procurement centres have recorded the arrival of paddy in the district wherein Pungrain, Punsup, Punjab State Warehousing Corporation, Markfed and Food Corporation of India have been entered in procurement operations. 
The Deputy Commissioner said that the procurement agencies have made a payment of Rs 68.34 Crores so far. The Deputy Commissioner said that as per the directions of the Punjab Chief Minister the district administration will not let any problem to the farmers bringing produce to Mandis. 
She appealed to the farmers to manage the stubble without burning the stubble with the help of available machinery in the district.
