Nawanshahr - Seriousness towards road safety can help save many precious lives. The basis of the required seriousness is to know and follow the traffic rules. There is a need to make special arrangements to give information about road safety in educational institutions, villages and cities and to include the proper maintenance of roads in the major works by the government. These views were expressed by Gurinder Singh Toor, President of Road Safety Awareness Society, while addressing a special meeting.
He appealed to the parents to bring their children who are entering the driving age to the Road Safety Park established in Blood Donors Colony near the local Rotary Bhawan so that they can become good drivers and keep themselves safe and also give safety to others. 
In the special meeting of the society, Gurinder Singh Toor, Sardar Harprabhmahal Singh Toor, Jaspal Singh Gidda, Sardar Dilbag Singh Rita: District Education Officer, Mr. Narendrapal Toor Rita: Post Master, Sardar Mahinder Singh Doaba Marble, Mr. Amar Nath Yoga Expert Saloh and Mr. Harinderpal Singh participated in the discussion on road safety.
According to the decisions taken unanimously, the main ones include setting up road safety clubs in educational institutions in collaboration with the education department, organizing speech competitions, organizing seminars on special days in villages, constructing roads for Barnala Kalan village in collaboration with Bhagat, Puran Singh Lok Seva Trust. 
This includes developing a safety model, organizing awareness morning trips and distributing awareness literature as needed. It was decided that the traffic police will also participate in the activities conducted for road safety awareness in the society as before.
