
Clean India Day celebrated at Red Cross Drug Addiction Centre.

Today, 02 October 2024, Mahatma Gandhi's birthday has ended as "Clean India Day". This event was organized under the leadership of Mr. Chaman Singh (Project Director).
Addressing the event, S. Chaman Singh (Project Director) congratulated Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birthdays. Then, he said that on 02 October 2014, the government had launched the Swachhta Abhiyan. Which is a campaign to create enthusiasm towards cleanliness. Today is the tenth year of the campaign and during this time many people, NGOs, employees have participated in this campaign. During this period, an undertaking was undertaken to make India Open Defecation Free (ODF). Much work has been done and much remains to be done. He expressed concern over the use of plastic and water pollution.
Speaking on this occasion, Sardar Jaswinder Singh Community Facilitator said that we should keep ourselves, our house, our surroundings clean. We should always take initiative to keep our surroundings clean.
Shri Subhash Arora captivated the audience with his poetry. He said that cleanliness is the second almighty and we all have to work selflessly and together to bring India to the forefront of clean countries.
Mrs. Councilor Kamaljit Kaur moderated the forum. He said that many common diseases can be avoided if we follow hygiene. He thanked everyone for participating in the fortnightly events.
Manjit Singh, Parvesh Kumar, Kulwant Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Avinash Kumar, Karan Kumar, Gobind Adhikari, Vasdev Pradesi, Kamala Rani, Jaswinder Kaur Cook, patients and their guardians were present on this occasion.
