SAS Nagar, September 26:- Sub-division war SDMs have been engaged as cluster officers and nodal officers to prevent crop residue burning during paddy harvesting season 2024.
 Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Ms. Ashika Jain said that the nodal officer has been posted behind each village and the cluster officer behind each 10 villages.
 He said that if any person sets fire to the crop residue, the Nodal Officer, Cluster Officer, SHO and SDM of the concerned Sub Division will be responsible for controlling it immediately.
 He said that cluster officers and nodal officers will go to their respective villages and educate the farmers about not setting paddy straw on fire. And they will also inform that strict action will be taken according to the instructions issued by the National Green Tribunal and the Supreme Court on setting fire to paddy straw.
 He said that in the meantime, if an officer/employee is transferred, then the next officer/employee posted at that place after the transfer will be bound by this duty.
 He also appealed to the farmers of the district not to burn stubble/crop residue but dispose of it using available stubble management farm machinery.
