International Women's Day celebrated at Khalsa College Dumeli

Hoshiarpur- National Service Scheme Department and Red Ribbon Club celebrated International Women's Day at Sant Baba Dalip Singh Memorial Khalsa College Dumeli, an educational institution running under the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. Saplings were planted in the college campus by all the female staff members and girl students of the college.

Prof. Amarpal Kaur, in-charge of the Red Ribbon Club of the college, while describing the power of women, said that women are the ones who maintain all relationships and women are the foundation of society. Prof. Damanjit Kaur, in-charge of the National Service Scheme Department, while addressing on this occasion, said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji has raised the status of women in his Bani and written, 'So kiyo manda aakhiye jaati jame rajaan'.
Women have a very high status in Sikh history. The college's principal Dr. Gurnam Singh Rasoolpur said that it is very important for women to be educated about their rights and the men of the country should also always encourage women and women should also not misuse their rights.
