Political parties to extend full support to BLOs during door-to-door survey: Additional District Election Officer

SAS Nagar, August 23:- Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Shri Viraj Shyam Tidke, IAS, SAS Nagar held a meeting with the representatives of political parties yesterday regarding the summary correction of photo voter lists and door-to-door survey based on the eligibility date 01.01.2025.

SAS Nagar, August 23:- Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Shri Viraj Shyam Tidke, IAS, SAS Nagar held a meeting with the representatives of political parties yesterday regarding the summary correction of photo voter lists and door-to-door survey based on the eligibility date 01.01.2025.
He told the representatives of the political parties that the Election Commission has issued a program for cursory revision of the photo voter lists on the basis of eligibility on 01.01.2025. Therefore, the youth who are 18 years of age or above should be made more aware to vote on this date. So that democracy can be strengthened with 100 percent voter participation.
The Additional District Election Officer said that according to the instructions of the Election Commission, a house-to-house survey will be conducted by booth level officers from 20.08.24 to 20.09.24 to verify the details of the voters. And forms will also be collected to make votes of youth who are 18 years of age or older on January 1, 2025. He appealed to the representatives of the political parties to extend full support to the BLOs during the door-to-door survey. He said that online forms can also be filled on the Election Commission's website or the mobile app Voter Help Line app to vote.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner asked the representatives of the political parties to appoint their booth level agents and share their details with the administration as well. He also said that the claim and objection forms should be submitted after completing them in all respects.
On this occasion, Tehsildar Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Election Counselor Mr. Surinder Kumar, Clerk Jaswinder Kaur, Harkesh Chand Sharma of Congress Party, Sukhdev Singh of Bahujan Samaj Party and Dr. Varinder Singh of Bharatiya Janata Party were present on this occasion.
