Mahilpur- A grand artistic event was organized by Principal Harbhajan Singh Vichar Manch Mahilpur under the leadership of Prof. Ajit Langeri in the memory of the founder of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur, Principal Harbhajan Singh Vichar Manch Mahilpur. The event organized at the Gadri Baba Harjap Singh Conference Hall was attended by Advocate Rajwinder Singh Bains, a prominent writer and human rights defender of Punjab and Haryana High Court, as the chief guest.
In his address, while he refreshed the memories of Mahilpur, he also expressed concern about the economic, social, political and religious system of the country. He further said that honest leaders are needed for all these institutions. For which the general public should take action. Eminent poet Sukhwinder Amrit captivated the audience with his ghazals, poems and songs.
Hoshiarpur's famous singer Professor Balraj started his singing career with the ghazals of Surjit Patar and reached the peak with the compositions of Prof. Didar Singh Didar. When he presented the ghazal 'Inj Gaman Ne Keri Zindagi Akalli Laal, Jidayan Tote Karane Kachhi Chhalli Naal', the audience erupted in applause.
Dr. Parvinder Singh, Principal of Khalsa College Mahilpur, advised people to avoid open shops in the name of education and appealed to join missionary institutions. He appealed to intellectuals and patriotic leaders to come forward to save Punjab and the country from intellectual poverty. Praising the wonderful environment of the college, BA Part One student Harvir Mann and MA student Sadhana expressed their views.
Baljinder Mann, editor of Nikkian Karumbalan and children's literature writer, while conducting the stage, specially discussed the contribution of Principal Harbhajan Singh Ji. Dr. JB Sekhon, Head of the Postgraduate Punjabi Department, appreciated the able leadership of the Sikh Educational Council and the Principal for the excellent achievements made by Khalsa College Mahilpur in the present period. Roshanjit Singh Panam, while discussing the contribution of this college to the sports world, said that the footballers who have excelled in the Asian and Olympic Games are the contribution of this college.
The paintings created by Prof. Simar Manak were exhibited with the help of his life partner Prof. Gurman Singh. The audience raised their artistic level by seeing these paintings. Prof. Dalwinder Ajit, Prof. Tajinder Singh, Talwinder Heer, Babbu Mahilpuri, Sarpanch Balwinder Singh, Baljinder Mann, Paramjit Katib, Raghuveer Singh Kaloya and Sukhman Singh etc. played a special role in conducting these arrangements in a brilliant manner.
On this occasion, Principal Surjit Singh, Surinder Pal Jhal, Vijay Bambali, Gurminder Candowal, Chanchal Singh Bains, Bant Singh Bains, Baldev Singh Banga, Sukhdev Nadalon, Prof. Vikram Chandel, Baljit Singh Bains, Sonia Kapoor, Shami Kapoor, Principal Sukhchain Singh along with students, teachers, parents, players and sports promoters were present.
