
Protest by doctors of dhaahan kaleran as a protest against the rape and killing of a woman doctor in Kolkata

Dr. Balwinder Singh, Deputy Medical Superintendent, while speaking, strongly condemned the on-duty rape and murder of a female post-graduate doctor in RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata.

Dr. Balwinder Singh, Deputy Medical Superintendent, while speaking, strongly condemned the on-duty rape and murder of a female post-graduate doctor in RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata.
He said that UPD medical services will remain closed for 24 hours from today till August 18 at 6 am as a protest by all the doctors of the country on the invitation of Indian Medical Association (IMA). But emergency services in hospitals will continue to run uninterrupted during this time. Dr. Balwinder Singh said that demonstrations are being held across the country to protest against this tragic incident and to ensure the safety of women. On this occasion, all the doctors also demanded immediate action on this incident.
It is to be noted that on the night of August 14-15, the doctors present expressed deep concern over the act of hooligans entering the hospital and beating up the doctors and vandalizing the hospital. On the occasion of this protest, Dr. Jasdeep Singh Saini, Dr. Vivek Gumbar, Dr. Shweta Bagaria, Dr. Navjot Singh Sahota, Dr. Rahul Goyal, Dr. Hartesh Pahwa, Dr. Raveena, Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Dr. Jagjit Singh, Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Dr. Akriti Singh, Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Dr. Vibhu Chaudhary and medical staff were also present.
