Garhshankar- The summer season has begun, and whether it is Banga Road, Nangal Road, or the Mandi area within the city limits, the sanitation arrangements are extremely poor. Due to this negligence, dirty household water remains accumulated in the drains, resulting in a heavy presence of flies and mosquitoes buzzing around, spreading diseases.
These concerns were expressed by Advocate Surinder Pal Barapagga, Chief Legal Advisor of the Adarsh Social Welfare Society Punjab, during a conversation with the press. He stated that the condition of sanitation within the city limits is very poor. The drains along Banga Road, Nangal Road, and in the Mandi area are constantly filled with dirty water.
The foul smell from the open sewage drains inside the city persists due to the filth, and mosquitoes swarm in large numbers, creating a constant risk of disease outbreaks.
He further said that through this press note, the Adarsh Social Welfare Society Punjab urges the Nagar Council administration to promptly clean the existing drains across the city and conduct proper fogging throughout the area to control the mosquito population.
