
Rural labor union announced dharana in front of BDPO offices
Nawanshahr - Gramin Mazdoor Union Punjab will sit on dharna in front of the offices of Block Development and Panchayat Officers from August 21 for the demands of the workers. This decision was taken in the union meeting here today. Giving information in this regard, the district leader of the union Kamaljit Sanawa said that through these dharnas, ownership rights of the land inside the red line in the villages should be given, allotment of residential plots and grants for house construction, demarcation law should be implemented for redistribution of land and the surplus land from seventeen and a half acres of land should be distributed equally among the landless.

The protest is being given for the demands of increasing the daily wages of the MagNREGA workers, providing work throughout the year and stopping social harassment. He said that the honorable government has promised many times to give the rural laborers the ownership rights of the land inside the red line, but these promises have not been fulfilled. Sanawa said that more than half a century has passed since the land delimitation law was made, but no government has implemented this law. Due to which there is a wide distribution of land, this law should be implemented and the extra land should be distributed among the landless. In the era of inflation, the daily wages of Magnrega workers are very low, this daily wage should be increased and the mate of Magnrega workers should be elected in the workers' meeting. The labor leader said that one member of every family should be given a government job. Expressing concern over the incidents of social oppression happening every day, he said that today when man has made a lot of progress by making many discoveries through science. At such a time, social oppression has become a common thing in our country. It is the job of the present government to stop it, but it is increasing. Which the government should stop. Talking about micro finance, he said that it has become a trap for poor people, as people try to get out of it, more people are getting trapped in it. These companies are robbing people indiscriminately. The government should get people out of its clutches. He said that protests will be held in front of BDP OZ offices in Saroa on August 21, Nawanshahr on August 22 and Balachaur on August 26. Rallies will be taken out in the villages to prepare for these protests.
The meeting was also addressed by Bagicha Singh Sahungra, Kiranjit Kaur and Gurdayal Rakkad. Ladi Kot Ranjha, Surinder Mirpuri, Shinder Pal Kot Ranjha and Surinder Kumar Sanawa were also present on the occasion.
