All appropriate arrangements have been made in the mandis for the procurement of paddy- Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain.

Hoshiarpur:- In view of the paddy procurement season in the entire Punjab, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain reviewed the arrangements being made in the mandis. She said that this time around 4,36,000 metric tonnes of paddy is expected to be procured in the district and for this the district administration has ensured all the necessary arrangements.

The Deputy Commissioner said that for the convenience of the farmers, along with the procurement agencies, responsibilities have been assigned to the aartiyas and market committees in the mandis. Drinking water, lighting, toilets, tarpaulins and other basic facilities are being arranged in the mandis so that the farmers do not have to face any kind of difficulty. Apart from this, special guidelines have also been issued to ensure timely lifting and payment of paddy.
He appealed to the farmers of the district to bring the paddy to the markets only after it is completely dried so that there is no hindrance in the procurement process due to moisture. The procurement of well-dried paddy will not only be faster but the farmers will not have to face any inconvenience or delay.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration is fully committed to protecting the interests of the farmers and ensuring a smooth procurement process. He assured the farmers that the right price for their hard work will be given on time and transparency and fairness in the markets will be given utmost importance.
