Chief Minister Punjab Cancer Relief Scheme: 141 patients received assistance of Rs 1 crore

Patiala, January 12 - The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is making continuous efforts to provide better health facilities to the people of the state under the Chief Minister Punjab Cancer Relief Scheme for the treatment of incurable diseases like cancer. 1 crore 16 lakh 99 thousand 791 rupees financial assistance has been provided to 141 cancer patients of the district during the year 2023.

Patiala, January 12 - The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is making continuous efforts to provide better health facilities to the people of the state under the Chief Minister Punjab Cancer Relief Scheme for the treatment of incurable diseases like cancer. 1 crore 16 lakh 99 thousand 791 rupees financial assistance has been provided to 141 cancer patients of the district during the year 2023.
  Giving information about this, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that under this scheme, financial assistance of 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees is provided to the patient for treatment. He said that the entire process in this regard is done online, which is directly paid to the hospital from which the patient gets treatment. The Deputy Commissioner said that from April to December of the year 2023, 141 patients of Patiala district have been provided this assistance amount.
He said that under the Chief Minister Punjab Cancer Relief Scheme, this assistance amount is provided to the patients in an online paperless and cashless manner. Under this scheme, patients residing in Patiala district can get treatment from Punjab government empaneled hospital from any district of the state. So the cost of their treatment up to 1 lakh 50 thousand is given directly to the hospital through Chief Minister Punjab Cancer Relief Scheme.
Sakshi Sahni also reviewed other schemes with the officials of the health department and directed that according to the guidelines of the health minister Dr. Balbir Singh, work should be done with full capacity to provide better health services to every citizen.
