
Glimpse of rich heritage at Saras Mela: Long Heck and Sithania competitions
Patiala, February 20- Long Heck and Sithania competitions were held today as part of various competitions being organized during Saras Mela in an effort to revive the rich heritage of Punjab. Host of cultural programs at the fair, Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal said that Sithania (folk song) and Long Heck and Mehndi competitions were organized today under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Anuprita Johal.

Host of cultural programs at the fair, Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal said that Sithania (folk song) and Long Heck and Mehndi competitions were organized today under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Anuprita Johal.
He said that State College of Education Patiala got first place in Long Heck, Government Polytechnic College for Girls, Patiala got first place in Sithania. In Mehndi competitions, first place was won by Shinepreet Kaur Senior High School Bhanra, second place by Sukhnaz Aromira Centre of Education, third place by Neha Aromira Centre of Education and in Senior Group (IX to XII) first place was won by Kajal SCS. School Model Town, second place Khushpreet S.S.S. Sanaur Girls, third place Amandeep Kaur Delhi Public School.
In college mehndi competitions, Akriti Sharma of Commando Battalion and Isha Khalsa College Patiala got first place, Poonam of Government ITI Nabha got second place and Preeti of Government ITI Nabha got third place. On this occasion, Law Officer and District Child Development and Protection Officer Ranjit Kaur distributed prizes to the winners. The stage was conducted by Dr. Narinder Singh, teacher of Government Civil Lines School.
