Hoshiarpur - Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav and Deputy Inspector General of Police of Jalandhar Range Harmanbir Singh celebrated International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as part of the campaign to eradicate drugs in Punjab. In this regard, under the leadership of Senior Captain Police Hoshiarpur Surendra Lamba, all the GIOs of District Police Hoshiarpur, Chief Officer Police Station, Outpost Incharge, staff posted at Sanjh Kendras organized seminars at 10 places at police station level in various sub-divisions of District Hoshiarpur and made about 800 people aware to avoid the ill effects of drugs.
At the same time, 12 drug addicts were sent to the De-addiction Center for de-addiction and rehabilitation. Along with this, the recovery in 28 cases registered in various police stations of the district under the NDPS Act was collected and destroyed at Dera Bassi, Police Station Dera Bassi, District SAS Nagar. Which included 796 grams of narcotic powder, 1 kg 191 grams of heroin, 65 intoxicating pills and 9 injections.
