First National Moot Court Competition organized at Chandigarh Law College, CGC Jhanjeri

SAS Nagar, November 17 - Chandigarh Law College, Jhanjedi Campus of Chandigarh Group of Colleges organized the first National Moot Court Competition in the campus in collaboration with Rotaract in which students from 35 institutions across the country participated. Among the teams participating in these competitions are Symbiosis Law School from Hyderabad and Pune, Amity from Rajasthan and Punjab, Masih from Bangalore and Delhi, Campus Law Center in Delhi, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law in Patiala, and Panjab University, Chandigarh Departments were prominent.

On this occasion, 35 eminent legal experts of the honorable Punjab and Haryana High Court played the role of judges. Several eminent personalities including prominent legal personalities Advocate Sourya Mehra, Advocate Tara Chand, and Advocate Anil Mehta graced the function. Meanwhile, the young students demonstrated their advocacy talent, legal acumen and court rules and protocols during the moot court proceedings. The competition consisted of five rounds, including two preliminary rounds, a quarter-final round, a semi-final and an exciting final round.

Speaking on the occasion, CGC President Rachpal Singh Dhaliwal said that the National Moot Court Competition has started a tradition, which will serve to hone the legal talent of future lawyers. MD Arsh Dhaliwal of Jhanjedi Campus said that the presence of famous lawyers of the country in this competition has increased the prestige of this competition.
