
Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur passed a total budget of Rs 7752.00 lakh for the year 2025-2026
Hoshiarpur- Mayor Municipal Corporation Surinder Kumar said that a special meeting was held today regarding the budget. In which Brahma Shankar Honorable MLA Hoshiarpur, Dr. Amandeep Kaur PCS Commissioner, Parveen Lata Saini Senior Deputy Mayor, Ranjita Chaudhary Deputy Mayor, Jaspal Chechi Chairman Market Committee, apart from various officers of the Municipal Corporation attended this meeting.

Various city councilors specially participated in this meeting. After which each item of the budget like income-expenditure, unforeseen expenditure and expenditure on development works were discussed in detail. In this meeting, special attention was paid to ensuring more provision for development works and expenditure and a total of Rs 1671.34 lakh was approved for development works. Rs 12 lakh was approved for the maintenance of parks.
Along with this, an expenditure of Rs 1 crore was approved for the care of cowsheds and stray animals and Rs 18 lakh for the maintenance of public toilets. Thus, like every year, this year also a total budget of Rs 7752.00 lakh was passed for the financial year 2025-26 for the overall development of the city and other expenditure matters.
He further informed that after the budget meeting on 11.03.2025, a general meeting of the House was held at 01:00 pm, in which various officers of the Municipal Corporation participated. In this meeting, special attention was given to the overall development of Hoshiarpur city, in which a total of Rs 34.41 crore was approved for the development works of the entire city.
Black spots were identified by the office to bring the city out of darkness. An expenditure of Rs 7.00 crore was approved for installing street lights at various places in the city. A total expenditure of Rs. 5.00 crore was approved for installing new tube wells, reboring tube wells and repairing tube wells.
Giving further information, he said that in view of cleanliness and hygiene of the city, a total expenditure of Rs. 48.91 lakh was approved for the helpers appointed for the newly purchased Tata Ace.
