
More than eight lakh devotees paid obeisance in memory of younger Sahibzadas and Mata Gujar Kaur Ji
Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, December 27- Dedicated to the martyrdom of Baba Zorawar Singh Ji, Baba Fateh Singh Ji and respected Mata Gujar Kaur Ji, the younger Sahibzadas of the Sarbansdani, the tenth Patshah Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji; a large and impressive gathering of devotees was seen today during the annual Shaheed Sabha despite the bitter cold and rain. According to an estimate, more than eight lakh devotees paid obeisance at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib to pay homage to the great martyrs.

According to the ancient tradition, the Shaheed Nagar Kirtan, which started from Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib after the recitation of Japji Sahib, reached Gurdwara Sri Jyoti Saroop Sahib and concluded with Ardas after the recitation of Kirtan Sohile. During the Nagar Kirtan organized by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee with the support of Sikh organizations, religious societies and congregations, a large number of prominent personalities including the Chief Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and Jathedar Singh Sahib of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh, President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Jathedar of Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib Giani Sultan Singh, Head of Damdami Taksal Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa, Head of Shiromani Panth Akali Buddha Dal Baba Balbir Singh 96th Crore, Head of Dal Baba Bidhi Chand Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh, Baba Mohan Singh Baran Wale and others participated and paid homage and respect to the Sahibzades.
Before the start of the Nagar Kirtan, a Kirtan of Asa Ji's Vaar was performed at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and Chief Granthi Giani Harpal Singh shed light in detail on the life history of the younger Sahibzades and Mata Gujri Ji. During this, after the recitation of Japji Sahib in the form of a congregation, Giani Harpal Singh offered prayers and the holy Hukamnama was read to the congregation by the Chief Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and Jathedar Singh Sahib of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Raghbir Singh.
During this, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Raghbir Singh and SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami presented Siropas to the Panj Pyares and Nishanchi Singhs. In the Nagar Kirtan, various Gatka Akharas showed the fighting prowess of the Sikh martial art Gatka and paid respect to the Sahibzadas and a large number of school students also participated.
Along the entire route of the Nagar Kirtan, there was a grand welcome by the congregation and societies, and various types of langars were also arranged. As per the instructions given to the community by Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib, at 10:00 am during the Nagar Kirtan, the Sangat paid homage to the Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji by chanting the Mool Mantra collectively.
Before the commencement of the Nagar Kirtan, the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib was held at Gurdwara Sri Jyoti Saroop Sahib regarding the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji. After this, the Nagar Kirtan started from Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, at the end of which, the famous Raagi Jathas of the Panth connected the Sangat with Gurbani Kirtan in the Gurmat Samagam organized at Gurdwara Sri Jyoti Saroop Sahib. On this occasion, Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh recited the Sohila Sahib and the concluding Ardas was performed by Giani Sultan Singh, Jathedar of Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib.
