Hoshiarpur - In view of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 on the instructions of Election Commission of India, General Observer 2023 batch Senior IAS Officer Dr. R. Anand Kumar and Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal presided over the NIC Office, District Administration today. The second randomization of the polling staff took place in the complex. Additional Deputy Commissioner (c) Rahul Chaba, Assistant Commissioner Divya P and DIO Pradeep Singh were also present on this occasion.
Finalizing the second randomization of the polling staff, the District Election Officer said that the duty orders of the polling staff will be handed over to the heads of the respective departments. He said that the duty of polling staff for the Lok Sabha elections has been imposed by collecting the data of the central and state government staff for the 1563 polling booths of the district. And apart from the said staff, reserve staff and other employees will also be appointed if necessary. He said that the said polling staff will play an important role in completing the voting process.
He instructed that polling parties have been formed and sent for all the assembly constituencies of the district. He said that the rehearsal of the polling staff will be held on 19 and 26 May 2024. Mukerian Assembly Constituency Rehearsal SPN College Mukerian, Dasuha Assembly Constituency Rehearsal GTB Senior Secondary School Dasuha, Urmur Assembly Constituency Rehearsal GKSM Government College Tanda, Sham Churasi Assembly Constituency Rehearsal Multi Skill Development Center, ITI Hoshiarpur, Vidhan Sabha Chabewal Constituency Rehearsal Engineering Block Riyat Bahra Group of Institute Hoshiarpur, Garhshankar Constituency Rehearsal SGGS Khalsa College Mahilpur and Hoshiarpur Constituency Rehearsal Riyat Bahra International School Hoshiarpur will be at 9 am.
Komal Mittal asked the appointed polling staff to perform their duties with full diligence and honesty. He said that the polling staff should feel proud that they are becoming a part of the election system. He said that the voting for the Lok Sabha elections will be held on June 1, 2024 and the counting of votes will take place on June 4. He said that the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is 17 May 2024. He said that the district administration will leave no stone unturned to conduct the Lok Sabha elections in a fair and transparent manner. He said that while the paid news is being monitored by forming the MCMC committee, immediate action is also being taken on the complaints received regarding the violation of Adarsh Ele Jabta Sanghata through the C-Whistle app. He said that violation of the ideal election code of conduct in the district will not be tolerated at any cost. On this occasion, Election Tehsildar Sarabjit Singh, Assistant Public Relations Officer Lokesh Kumar, Election Kanugo Deepak Kumar, Lakhbir Singh and other officials were also present.
