International Midwifery Day was celebrated at Mata Kushalia Hospital

Patiala, May 7 - National Midwifery Training Institute, Patiala, organized a function under International Midwifery Day at Mata Kushalia Hospital. Poster making competition of nursing students was conducted. Today's function was attended by Secretary Health-cum-Mission Director NHM Punjab Dr. Abhinav Trikha as Chief Guest.

Patiala, May 7 - National Midwifery Training Institute, Patiala, organized a function under International Midwifery Day at Mata Kushalia Hospital. Poster making competition of nursing students was conducted. Today's function was attended by Secretary Health-cum-Mission Director NHM Punjab Dr. Abhinav Trikha as Chief Guest.
On this occasion, he said that the National Midwifery Training Institute of the entire northern region has been running for the last two years at Patiala, which is the third National Midwifery Training Institute of the country, in which nine staff nurses have received midwifery training under the first batch and others Nine staff nurses of the batch are being given training to give special attention to maternal and child care and to perform normal delivery. He said that timely registration of pregnant mothers should be ensured to provide them with proper health services, especially high risk mothers should be given special attention.
About 97 percent institutional deliveries are being done in Punjab at present. He said that three more state midwifery training institutes are being opened in Punjab in the near future. State Program Officer Dr. Inderdeep Kaur said that the international educators hired under the partner agency are giving training so that the children can be given high-level education. On this occasion, MS Mata Kushalia Hospital Dr. Jagpalinder Singh said that all kinds of delivery services are being provided to mothers in Mata Kushalia Hospital.
On this occasion Dr. Nidhi from Deputy Director Family Welfare DHS Punjab, Civil Surgeon Patiala Dr. Sanjay Goyal, Rajindra Hospital Professor and Head of Gynecology Department Dr. Preet Kamal Sibiya, Professor Dr. Satinder Kaur, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Vikas Goyal and Dr. Ashrafjit Singh, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. SJ Singh, Principal Nursing School Rajwinder Kaur, Principal Balwinder Kaur of Nursing School Rajindra Hospital Patiala, Vice Principal Surinderpal Kaur, faculty members and students of Nursing School were present.
