Garhshankar 27 January - On the national call of the United Kisan Morcha, a tractor march was held in Garhshankar today under the leadership of Darshan Singh Mattu, Gurnek Singh Bhajjal, Bibi Subhash Mattu, Mahendra Kumar Waddoan of the Kul Hind Kisan Sabha, Harmesh Singh Dhesi, Kulwinder Chahal of the Kirti Kisan Union and Kulbhushan Kumar and Ramji Das of the Jamhuri Kisan Sabha.
In this tractor march, a large number of farmers of the area reached with their tractors and expressed their anger against the central government. This tractor march started from Baba Gurdit Singh Park Garhshankar and ended at the grain market Saila Khurd. On this occasion, a furious rally was held by farmers and laborers at the grain market Saila Khurd.
Speaking on the occasion, the above leaders said that a total of 12 demands including cancellation of the new agri-trade policy, giving legal guarantee to MSP, waiving off loans of farmers and laborers and cancellation of the smart electricity meter scheme; a tractor march was taken out to protest against the central government.
On this occasion, a large number of farmers including Ramjit Singh Sarpanch, Iqbal Singh, Harbhajan Singh Atwal, Gopal Singh Thandi, Kashmir Singh Bhajjal, Jujhar Singh Mattu, Gurmeet Singh, Kewal Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Prem Singh Premi, Paramjit Singh, Mahinder Singh Mattu, Dhani Ram, Balwant Rai, Sher Jang Bahadur Singh, Narinder Singh Dhillon, Ginder Singh Hunar, Sarvjit Singh Gill, and Shamsher Singh were present.
