Hoshiarpur- On the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, the Health Department of the Punjab Government honored the personalities who have made significant contributions in the field of blood donation. This time, this state level function was organized by the Punjab State AIDS Control Society and the Punjab State Blood Transfusion Council on October 1 in Patiala.
In this function, the blood donor Sidhu couple Bahadur Singh Sidhu and Jatinder Kaur Sidhu, residents of Bullhowal town of Hoshiarpur, who are known as the "Star Couple Blood Donor" in the area, were honored with the State Award by the Health Minister of Punjab, Dr. Balbir Singh, for their significant contribution in the field of blood donation.
It is worth mentioning that in recent times, they are the first couple of Hoshiarpur district who are active in the field of blood donation. The couple has donated blood together 33 times so far and this number continues to increase. Individually, Bahadur Singh Sidhu has donated blood 68 times and Jatinder Kaur Sidhu has donated blood 33 times.
