Karnal, September 20: Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan has said that there is no greater deed than service. Service to man is service to God. While moving forward in the struggle of life, one must maintain a spirit of service. Let us all move forward together, supporting each other.

Mr. Kalyan was speaking as the chief guest at a ceremony to distribute free motorized tricycles and assistive devices to the disabled, held at Bal Bhavan here today.
Equipment worth Rs. 1.23 crore was distributed to 214 disabled individuals on this occasion. The equipment included 174 motorized tricycles, one tricycle, 20 folding chairs, 60 crutches, five walking sticks, one TLM kit, 22 hearing aids, six CP wheelchairs, five joysticks, three rollators, 15 walkers, and one tripod.
These devices were provided by Power Finance Corporation Ltd. (PFC) and Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (HUDCO) under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The Assembly Speaker symbolically distributed motorized tricycles to four disabled individuals: Pooja Sharma and Kesham Singh, a wheelchair to Aryan, and a hearing aid to Navtesh Kumar.
The Assembly Speaker stated that honest performance of duties benefits society. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pledge to make India a developed nation by 2047 is not merely about development but about empowering every section of society.
He stated that everyone should come together to help those with disabilities, regardless of their cause. Mr. Kalyan emphasized that everyone should be sensitive to those in need. Service should be free of ego. The devices distributed to the disabled today will help alleviate their difficulties.
The Assembly Speaker stated that various activities are being undertaken during the Seva Pakhwada, which began on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday. Social service also brings about a change in thinking. He said that it doesn't take long for times to change in life.
Therefore, we should help the poor, the needy, and the disabled with a spirit of service. Expressing gratitude to HUDCO and PFC, he said that we must ensure that CSR funds reach the needy in the future as well.
On this occasion, Mayor Renu Bala Gupta said that the equipment received today will help make life easier for the disabled. She said that the government has also implemented several schemes for the welfare of the disabled. Those eligible should take advantage of these.
Pankaj Dwivedi of the Artificial Limb Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), Manish Kaushal, Assistant General Manager of HUDCO, and Kulveer Malik, Secretary of the District Red Cross Society, also expressed their views on this occasion.
