Patiala:- A meeting was held with the representatives of Welfare Society Ward No. 2 Bhadso Road, Patiala and the Mayor along with the Commissioner Municipal Corporation Patiala regarding the problems faced by the residents of Ward No. 2. The meeting was held in a good atmosphere. The meeting was attended by the Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Mr. Paramjit Singh IAS, Mayor Mr. Kundan Gogia Ji, SDO Walia Sahib, Chopra Sahib and other officials and from the society Dr. Darshanpal Pradhan, Eng. Karamchand Bhardwaj General Secretary, Mr. Dharam Singh Senior Vice President, Tek Singh, Jatinder Kumar Sharma, Tarlok Singh Sandhu, Sat Prakash Sharma, Ram Saroop, Darshan Singh, and other office bearers.
In the meeting, the Commissioner and Mayor assured that the problems faced by the residents of the area will be resolved soon. The pressure and supply of drinking water will be ensured in Ward No. 2 including Darshana Colony. More street light points will be installed from New Chungi Tiwana Chowk to Darshana Colony and Ablowal Chowk. The damaged lights in Ward No. 2 will be fixed.
All the broken roads of the ward will be repaired soon. The narrow road going from Bhadson Road to Ablowal behind Thapar will be widened. Rumble strips will be installed near the gate of Thapar Polytechnic College and Gurdwara Sahib Adarsh ??Colony, encroachment will be removed on Bhadson Road.
Arrangements will be made for smooth traffic from Thapar College Chowk to Bhakra Canal. Proper arrangement of cleaning of roads and streets, getting rid of garbage, road lights in the intersections, fixing appropriate rates for greetings to transgenders, relief from stray animals and livestock, fixing blocked sewerage etc. will be resolved as soon as possible.
Karamchand Bhardwaj Secretary said that the Municipal Corporation has sent a letter to the concerned officers of Chandigarh regarding widening of the road behind Thapar College. Action will be taken soon after its approval. The problem of dumping garbage behind the jail has been resolved.
The Commissioner and the Mayor issued instructions to the officers present in the meeting to resolve the remaining problems soon. They appealed to the city residents for their cooperation in keeping Patiala a clean city.
