Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini flagged off 20 trucks of relief goods from Pipli Grain Market to Punjab.

Chandigarh, September 10:- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that Haryana has immediately sent Rs. 5 crore each to flood-affected Punjab, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir. On behalf of the Central Government, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi visited the flood-affected areas of Punjab and Himachal on the last day and also announced Rs. 3100 crore as assistance for the damage in both the states, which includes Rs. 1600 crore to Punjab and Rs. 1500 crore to Himachal.

Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini was talking to the media at Pipli Grain Market in Kurukshetra on Wednesday. Earlier, the Chief Minister flagged off 20 trucks of relief goods from Kurukshetra district to Punjab. These trucks have been sent to different districts. The trucks include pulses, rice, water, juice, pickles, medical kits, mosquito nets, tarpaulins, green fodder for animals, bran and other daily necessities.
He said that the people of Punjab, Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir are affected by the floods. Relief goods are being sent to these flood-affected areas with the help of citizens of Haryana, social organizations, committees.
Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the government is working to provide compensation to the citizens and farmers of such areas in the state which are affected by waterlogging. The e-compensation portal is open, the affected citizens should register themselves on this portal.
He said that so far 3 lakh 24 thousand 583 farmers from 5786 villages affected by the flood have registered the damage of 19 lakh 22 thousand 617 acres. He said that an amount of Rs 4 lakh is being given immediately as assistance to the family of those who died due to the flood. Apart from this, compensation has been fixed for any kind of loss. In the last 10 years, farmers have been given compensation of Rs 15,500 crore for crop damage. He has appealed to all the officers and employees of the state government to help the flood victims in the Haryana Chief Minister's Relief Fund as per their wish.
Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini congratulated and wished the newly elected Vice President of the country Mr. C.P. Radhakrishnan.

*Rahul Gandhi goes abroad in times of trouble or disaster
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, in response to a question, said that history is witness that whenever there is trouble or disaster in the country, Rahul Gandhi goes on a foreign tour. Such situations are also there at this time. There is a flood in Punjab, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir of the country and Rahul Gandhi is sitting abroad, he said that I also had a foreign tour, but considering this situation, I cancelled my foreign tour.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, in response to a question, said that today the Chief Minister of Punjab is saying that there is no shortage of money in Punjab, we do not need to ask for money from anyone. Punjab is a neighboring state of Haryana, it is our responsibility to help the people of Punjab in this hour of trouble.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that in the last 10 years, an amount of Rs 2,314 crore was distributed to build houses for 7 lakh 47 thousand families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Similarly, under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Naveenikaran Yojana, an amount of Rs 416 crore was distributed to fix the thatched roofs of 76,985 families for the repair of houses. Under this scheme, Rs 80,000 has been given to each family.
Former Minister of State Subhash Sudha, Chairman Dharamvir Mirzapur, Chairman Dharamvir Dagar and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
