S.A.S.Nagar, September 10:- The affected School Lecturers Union Punjab has welcomed the decision of the Punjab Cabinet to amend the Education Service Rules 2018. In the year 2018, the then government had reduced the promotion quota of lecturers from 75 percent to 50 percent. Due to which lecturers were not being promoted to the post of principal for a long time. Due to which about 900 schools were deprived of principals. Due to this, the studies of the students were also getting affected.
On the other hand, lecturers were demanding for a long time that the previous status should be restored by amending the Education Service Rules 2018 so that the lecturers who have been waiting for promotion for a long time can get justice. In the cabinet meeting, the government has accepted their demand and increased the promotion quota from 50 percent to 75 percent, which has been heartily welcomed by the affected School Lecturers Union Punjab.
Lecturers Bhupinder Singh Samra, Sukhbir Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Deepak Kumar Sharma, Arun Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Jatinder Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Satinderjit Kaur, Maninder Kaur, Gurmeet Singh, Surjit Singh, Harmeet Singh, Mukhtiar Singh, Juginder Lal, Archana Joshi and many others have expressed special gratitude to the Chief Minister, Education Minister and Education Secretary of Punjab for this decision.
They have said that it is due to their efforts that this task has been successfully completed. The lecturers have strongly demanded from the government that the lecturers should be promoted to the post of Principal immediately as many lecturers have retired without getting promotion while waiting for promotion. At this time, at least those lecturers and teachers should be appointed immediately who are retiring this month and are far ahead in seniority.
In this regard, these lecturers have demanded that as per Lecturer Seniority List 2015, promotions should be made immediately by seeking cases from eligible lecturers so that there are no legal hurdles in the promotions.
