Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 9: As per the directions of Mr. Atul Kasana, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Smt. Surbhi Parashar, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, conducted a surprise inspection of the Legal Aid Clinic established at Zilla Sainik Board, Phase-10, Mohali.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 9: As per the directions of Mr. Atul Kasana, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Smt. Surbhi Parashar, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, conducted a surprise inspection of the Legal Aid Clinic established at Zilla Sainik Board, Phase-10, Mohali. During the inspection, she met the para-legal volunteer posted at the Legal Aid Clinic and examined the registers maintained by the Zilla Sainik Board.
Mrs. Surbhi Parashar, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar further informed that as per the provisions contained in the “National Legal Services Authority (Legal Services Clinic) Rules, 2011”, Punjab State Legal Services Authority has issued guidelines to ensure effective functioning of Legal Services Clinics established in State/District Defence Welfare Services Offices. The Legal Services Clinic will function from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during working days.
The Legal Services Clinic functions as a single window facility to help defence personnel and their families and dependents in resolving their legal problems. The Para Legal Volunteer will provide initial advice to the persons seeking legal service, help such persons in preparing petitions/notices and filling application forms for various benefits available under government schemes.
If at any stage the legal aid recipient requires the services of a lawyer, the PLV will contact the panel lawyer to resolve the complaint. This initiative has been taken by the District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar under the aegis of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority.
