Addressing the students Mr. Chaman Singh (Project Director) said that drug addiction is now a big problem worldwide. While all over the world youths are turning to drugs, nowadays girls are also going into the swamp of drugs. While giving information, he said that if any kind of problem occurs in your life, you should share it with your teacher and parents. He said that under the Drug Free India campaign, the government has opened various drug de-addiction centres, private de-addiction centres, so that drug addicts can be treated. We should do our part in this campaign to make people aware of drug addiction. Therefore, starting from ourselves, if we share information about the ill effects of drugs at home, then we can save the young generation from this quagmire. That's why we have to start the good work from our home. Addressing the students, he said that you have to go to college for higher education after school, so stay away from drugs and focus on your studies. Along with informing them about the ill-effects of drugs, they also shared tips on how not to get addicted to it.
We should sit in our homes and share information on any festival or any martyrdom days holiday. He also appealed to the teachers that they should share information about drugs along with school education, so that the students can be kept away from drugs only by making them aware about drugs. He also explained that what is addiction? How can we get rid of it? Along with this, he also shed light on the physical, social, economic and mental health of the affected youth. Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur (Counselor) raised awareness about the harm caused by consumption of drugs and said that the activities carried out under Drug Free India Abhiyan should be accelerated. Students should also be made aware about the ill effects of drugs through social media and other means of communication. Students' bags and belongings should be checked regularly by school teachers. He also shared detailed information about the treatment of patients at the Red Cross De-addiction Centre. That any drug addict can get free treatment for one month as per his wish.
Mr. Naveen Kaushal (Teacher) also expressed his views about drugs and its side effects. Mrs. Mandeep Sandhu (Head Teacher) thanked the Red Cross team. Who made the students aware about drugs and shared various tips with the students to stay away from drugs.
