Una, September 5- The role of every citizen has now become important in the decisive war against drug abuse. On the Central Government's National Narcotics Helpline 'Manas 1933', any person can share information related to drug smuggling or abuse with complete confidentiality and become a partner in the resolution to make India drug-free by 2047.

On the Central Government's National Narcotics Helpline 'Manas 1933', any person can share information related to drug smuggling or abuse with complete confidentiality and become a partner in the resolution to make India drug-free by 2047.
Director of Information and Public Relations Department Rajiv Kumar says that the Manas 1933 helpline is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week and it has been linked with the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, so that immediate action can be ensured on information related to drug abuse. The identity of the person giving information is kept completely safe, so that people can share information without hesitation and fear.

* Emphasis on public awareness
Rajiv Kumar said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, innovative and effective efforts are being made to create public awareness against drug abuse in the state. To increase awareness about Manas Helpline, extensive campaigns are being run across the state, so that more and more people can share information about drug trafficking and abuse and get necessary counseling.
He informed that to increase public awareness against drug abuse, information material like posters, videos and brochures have been made available on the portal https://www.ncbmanas.gov.in/awareness (www.ncbmanas.gov.in)
Anyone can download, share and use these resources free of cost. Educational institutions, panchayats, youth clubs and voluntary organizations are especially using them to make the youth aware of the ill effects of drug abuse.

*Una District Administration's zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse
Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal informed that the zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse is being strictly implemented in the district. Awareness activities are being continuously increased to save the youth from the quagmire of drug abuse and to make them adopt a healthy and positive lifestyle.
Along with setting up open air gyms and libraries in villages, special sessions, awareness camps and social media campaigns are being conducted in schools and colleges. He said that Manas Helpline 1933 will give new strength to all these efforts.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the general public to immediately share any information related to drug trafficking or abuse on Manas Helpline 1933 and become a part of this campaign to make India drug-free.
