Una, August 23- District Administration Una has taken a new initiative under the Samarthya program with the aim of promoting women empowerment and self-reliance. Under this, sewing machines will be made available to widows and single women of BPL families of the district so that they can start their own employment and become financially strong.
Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal said that the purpose of the scheme is to provide means of self-employment to needy women, so that they can become self-reliant and lead a respectable life in the society. He said that widows and single women of the age of 45 years or less can avail the benefits of this scheme.
