Pensioners Association Nawanshahr staged a protest in front of the circle office.

Nawanshahr- Pensioners Association Punjab State Power and Transmission Corp: Ltd: A protest was held in front of Circle Nawanshahr on the call of the state committee under the leadership of Kulwinder Singh Atwal, President of Circle Nawanshahr. In which leaders of the organization and pensioners from all the divisions under Circle Nawanshahr participated in large numbers.

In which leaders of the organization and pensioners from all the divisions under Circle Nawanshahr participated in large numbers. Apart from them, General Secretary of the State Committee S. Dhanwant Singh Bhattal participated in this protest in a prominent manner.
He said in his address that the Punjab government and Powercom management do not want to resolve the demands of the pensioners at all, are not holding meetings by giving meetings to the joint front of employees and pensioners, are repeatedly running away from meetings. As per the struggle drawn up by the state committee against this low and condemnable policy of the Punjab government, a series of protest dharnas are being held in front of all the circles of Punjab.
If despite these protests, the Punjab government and Powercom management do not listen, then as per the decision taken by the joint front of employees and pensioners, a massive protest will be held in Sangrur on October 11 and a state-level protest will be held in front of the head office in Patiala on November 7 at the call of the state committee.
In today's circle protest, circle leaders Balvir Dosanjh, Balwinder Pal, Niranjan Kang, Vijay Kumar Bali, Jagdish Balachaur, Kulwinder Garayan, Malkit Madhali and division presidents/secretaries, Narinder Kumar Mehta Nawanshahr, Madan Lal Ramraipur, Ravinder Bhaskar Rahon, Ajit Ram Banga, Shri Kishan Banga, Pyara Ram Guraya, Surinder Lakha Guraya, Kamal Dev Garhshankar, Amrik Jhungian, Swaran Singh, circle president of the employees' organization Sanjeev Kumar and circle secretary Balwinder Singh, state convener of fraternal organizations Kuldeep Singh Durka, convener Karnail Singh Rahon, Surinder Banga, Ashok Kumar AAE (Retd) and Satpal Saloh etc. shared their views and said that the legitimate and rightful demands of the pensioners, including 2.59 per cent of the salary for retirees who retired before 1-1-16, should be met. Factoring, increasing medical allowance, restoring medical cashless scheme, immediate release of pending DA installments and pending DA arrears, immediate cessation of forced deduction of Rs. 200 per month in the name of development, giving concession in units to pensioners, etc. are being put forward by the Punjab government and Powercom management.
Due to which there is huge protest among the pensioners and the pensioners participating in this protest raised slogans against the government and the management. After the protest, a memorandum of demands was handed over to the Superintendent Engineer Nawanshahr under the leadership of State General Secretary Dhanwant Singh Bhattal to be submitted to the Powercom management. The role of Stage Secretary was played well by Circle Secretary Ashwani Kumar Garhshankar.
