
Patiala Heritage Festival: Traditional Punjabi attire seen in 'Rang Punjab De' fashion show
Patiala, February 15- The 'Rang Punjab De' fashion show organised by the district administration in collaboration with the Tourism and Cultural Department in the open courtyard of the Darbar Hall of Qila Mubarak here on the third evening of Patiala Heritage Festival-2025 was a unique celebration of Punjabi heritage, fashion and music. The festival was inaugurated by DIG Mandeep Singh Sidhu, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav and famous Punjabi actor Binnu Dhillon by lighting the lamp from the 260-year-old lamp of Baba Ala Singh inside Qila Mubarak.

On this occasion, host of the ethnic walk fashion show and famous anchor, artist and singer Satinder Satti, ADC (J) Isha Singal, Madam Kanchan and other dignitaries were present. In the ethnic walk fashion show led by Satinder Satti, famous designers Ellie and Kim presented Punjabi dresses in a new form in a modern combination of Punjabi dresses. About two dozen famous models displayed the splendor of traditional Punjabi dresses, which showed a confluence of Patiala royal style and modern fashion.
During this time, the vanishing hand embroidery, Indian architecture based designs like Salwar Suit, Lehenga, Sharara, Garara, Anarkali for girls and Sherwani, Kurta and Afreen design for boys became the center of special attraction. In this fashion show, the confluence of heritage, fashion and music, the wonderful confluence of Punjabi culture, history and modern trends took the Patiala Heritage Festival to new heights. Where Satinder Satti, while describing the glory of Punjabi heritage and history in her special style, filled the audience with a different wave of emotions and captivated the audience.
Famous singer Jasmine Akhtar made the evening of the fashion show unique by presenting folk songs and ghazals in her melodious voice. On this occasion, Mayor Kundan Gogia said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is striving to make Punjab a colourful Punjab again and Patiala Heritage Mela is a clear proof of this.
Kundan Gogia said that he is confident that such fairs being organized by the Punjab Government will give a new identity to Punjabi culture at the global level. CA PDA Manisha Rana, nodal officer of the event and ADC (J) Isha Singal, SDM Samana Tarsem Chand, Assistant Commissioner (J) Richa Goyal and a large number of Patiala residents were present on the occasion.
