Nawanshahr - As per the guidelines of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India (New Delhi) and under the leadership of Sardar Shiv Dular Singh Dhillon (IAS Ret.), Secretary Indian Red Cross Society, Punjab State Branch, Chandigarh, Father of the Nation Mahatma Under the campaign "Swachhta Hi Seva 2024" dedicated to Gandhiji's birth anniversary, the Red Cross Narsha Mukti Kendra Nawanshahr organized this year's theme "Nature Cleanliness Sanskar Swachhta" through the Nawanshahr Municipal Council. A medical checkup camp was organized. Which was led by Mr. Chaman Singh (Project Director).
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Chaman Singh (Project Direct) said that on 2nd October 2014, Swachh Bharat Mission was launched as a national movement across India. Hygiene is a good habit that is very important for all of us. Addressing the cleaning workers, he said that you do cleaning work very bravely and keep the environment clean. You should also take care of your personal health while cleaning. While cleaning, you should wear gloves, mask and big shoes on your feet, so that you can avoid diseases. Because if we ourselves are healthy then we can provide a clean environment to the people.
He said that every human being has come as a guest on this earth. So we will provide a clean environment for the guests. It is our duty as humanity to keep the mother earth clean and it is also the duty of the guests to keep the air clean. It was told during the seminar that do not use drugs because cleaning/gutter cleaning etc. should not smell much, if you consume drugs then very tragic accidents happen with it. Also appealed to the hygiene/health department that the hygiene friends should be checked up from time to time. Necessary goods and medicines should be provided. He also congratulated Shaheed-e-Ajam Sardar Bhagat Singh Ji on his birthday and said that he used to respect the sanitation workers a lot. She gave the status of a second mother to a cleaner in the jail.
On this occasion, a team of cleaning workers from OST center Nawanshahr led by Kumar Bangar ji. They checked up blood pressure, temperature etc. Red Cross Center Nawanshahr distributed masks to all the sanitation workers. Sardar Jaswinder Singh (CF, Community Facilitator) Ranho extended full support for today's event. Nehru Yuva Kendra Nawanshahr supported the event by Gobinda Adhikari. On this occasion, everyone was sworn in. Sardar Jaswinder Singh attended along with some students and staff members from Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) Ranho.
He gave a message to keep various places on the way clean. Before this, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Park Road was also cleaned. On this occasion, Jeet Ram Hyala (through Environment Committee), Som Nath Rajwanshi, Parvesh Kumar, Ranjana Kanth, Harpreet Kaur, Kumar Bangar, Pawan Kumar, Kulwinder Ram and all sanitation workers, students were present.
