Chandigarh- In a statement issued by the Shiromani Akali Dal, it rejected all the claims and personal statements in which questions are being raised about the election of the president of the revived Shiromani Akali Dal.
In a statement issued by the Shiromani Akali Dal office, it has been clearly stated that the election of Giani Harpreet Singh Ji as the president of the revived Shiromani Akali is not a personal decision of any person or any group of people.
The election of the president of the Shiromani Akali Dal is a unanimous election made in the general session by the delegates elected through recruitment of about 15 lakhs in the light of the Hukamnama Sahib issued on December 2, while protecting and safeguarding the Panthic interests.
Claiming by a particular individual or group that “we created Giani Harpreet” may be beyond the truth and an attempt to take credit in their own name. Decisions in the party, and especially the election of office bearers like the President, are made without any pressure and with general consensus, and not in the hands of any one person.
The statement given by the Sukhbir faction is merely an attempt at a political maneuver to create Panthic illusion. This is the faction that has violated the Hukamnama (December 2, 2024) of the Akal Takht Sahib, which instead of going against the orders and shutting down its political stove, kept it burning as a political tandoor, which caused a great blow to Panthic morality.
The purpose of the Sukhbir faction is only to save its political ground, not to serve the Panth.
The statement issued by the party office on the stand of the revived Akali Dal has said that the party, under the guidance of Akal Takht Sahib, will firmly guard the Panthic unity, the rights of the Sikh community and the interests of Punjab. By coming together on all Panthic issues including the SGPC elections, all Panthic parties will be taken together and a voice will be raised for the solution of the big issues of the Panth and the community.
Along with this, it has also been said that our primary objective is to re-establish the identity of the real Akali Dal by removing the dilemma that has arisen within the Panth and the community in the past.
