Nawanshahr, December 10 - Punjab Power and Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO paid a surprise visit to Nawanshahr today. During this, while checking the Nawanshahr power plant, he also inspected the work of the 'G Plus Four' building being constructed by the Public Works Department at Government Senior Secondary Smart School Nawanshahr.
Talking to reporters during this time, he said that Government Senior Secondary Smart School is a prestigious institution of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district, where about 1450 children are receiving education. He said that 95 percent of the work of the 'G Plus Four' building being constructed by the Public Works Department in this school has been completed and it will be completed by the end of December and handed over to the Education Department. He said that uninterrupted power supply will be ensured to the residents of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district and no problem will be allowed to the residents of the area in this regard.
He said that the entire staff of both the departments in the district is working with hard work and dedication, for which the district administration deserves congratulations, which inspects their work from time to time. During this, apart from reviewing the functioning of the power plant, he also checked the attendance of the staff and also held a meeting with the officials of the district administration, public works department and education department at the smart school. During this, he gave necessary directions to the officials of the public works department and said that full attention should be paid to safety in the building under construction. He said that no negligence will be tolerated in this work.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Rajiv Verma, SDM Nawanshahr Dr. Akshita Gupta, Good Governance Fellow Asmita Parmar, Harjot Kaur Lohtia, Deputy District Education Officer Amarjit Khatkar, Principal Sarabjit Singh, Public Works Department's Ex-Eng Tajinder Singh, SDO Himanshu, JE Ramesh Kumar, Neeraj, Akshay and Priyanka, besides officials of the Electricity Department were present.
