
Vet Varsity empowers the future of veterinary nephrology with advanced dialysis care for companion animals
Ludhiana 25 August 2025- In a landmark academic collaboration, Dr. Randhir Singh of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Ludhiana, was invited to Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (CSKHPKV), Palampur (H.P.) to share his expertise in veterinary nephrology and extracorporeal therapies.
Ludhiana 25 August 2025- In a landmark academic collaboration, Dr. Randhir Singh of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Ludhiana, was invited to Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (CSKHPKV), Palampur (H.P.) to share his expertise in veterinary nephrology and extracorporeal therapies.
During this visit, Dr. Singh played a pivotal role in operationalizing the newly established veterinary hemodialysis unit at Palampur, one of the first of its kind in the state.
He conducted extensive hands-on demonstrations and training sessions, showcasing the practical aspects of dialysis therapy in dogs for clinicians, scholars, and students. His interactive sessions enabled participants to gain valuable exposure to the intricacies of advanced renal replacement therapies.
Complementing the practical demonstrations, Dr. Singh delivered two expert lectures on “Evidence-based Approach to Current Diagnosis and Long-term Therapy of Canine Kidney Disease” and “Advanced Hemodialysis Strategies in Companion Animal Care: Approaching Beyond Crisis.”
Expressing his pride in this academic contribution, Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Vice Chancellor remarked: “It is heartening to see our faculty extending expertise beyond Punjab to strengthen veterinary clinical services at other universities.
Such collaborations reflect our commitment to national leadership in advanced animal healthcare.” He further emphasized that operationalizing a dialysis unit for companion animals is a milestone in veterinary practice.
