Hoshiarpur - While reviewing various development works being carried out in the district, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Nicas Kumar directed the concerned officers to complete the development works within the stipulated time. During a review meeting with the officers of the departments at the local District Administrative Complex, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nicas Kumar said that along with development works, priority should be given to extending the benefits of public welfare schemes to the eligible beneficiaries. He reviewed the progress of the works of various government buildings being constructed in the district while getting information about the functioning from the heads of the departments.
While reviewing the health programs, the Additional Deputy Commissioner obtained information about the set goals of the department and the achieved goals and instructed to complete the remaining goals. He said that people in every area of ??the district should also be made aware from time to time about various health services. He said that activities should be intensified to ensure that pregnant women deliver in maximum government hospitals. He directed to ensure inspection of medical stores under the Drug and Cosmetic Act and said that strict action should be taken if any deficiencies are found.
He said that maximum awareness should also be spread regarding the treatment of TB. While reviewing the works of the School Education Department, he got information about the working style of the School of Eminence selected to provide quality and high-level education to the students of the district. He also instructed to pay special attention to the quality of food being served under Mid-Day Meal. Apart from this, he also reviewed the wet and dry waste management, housing scheme, MGNREGA works, water supply and sanitation works, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Matar Vandana Yojana, Smart Ration Card, Smart Village Campaign, Jal Jeevan Mission.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner especially emphasized the need to further accelerate the pace of projects related to rural development, water supply, sanitation, road construction, education, health and sports departments. On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Rahul Chaba, SDM Tanda Pankaj Kumar, SDM Mukerian Kanwaljit Singh, SDM Garhshankar Harbans Singh, SDM Sanjeev Kumar Sharma and officials of other departments were also present.
