Chandigarh: 21st March, 2024:- Prestigious Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh is proud to announce the exceptional achievement of Mr. Uttam Mittal, a final year B.tech student of Computer Science and Engineering,who had scored an All India Rank of 29 (All India Rank in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA)) in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024. He had achieved a remarkable Gate Score of 873. 

Director of PEC, Prof. (Dr.) Baldev Setia had congratulated him for his achievement. He also wished him Luck for his future prospects and higher education. 

Along with his studies Uttam is currently working on 2 projects, one is a Research based project on Deep Learning in Collaboration with PGI under the mentorship of Dr. Padmavati Khandnor (Faculty, CSE) and another is a sponsored project by 3BRD, Indian Air Force under the mentorship of Dr. Padmavati Khandor (Faculty, CSE) and Dr. Mayank Gupta (Faculty, CSE). He had scored AIR 199 in JEE Mains 2020. He's feeling very happy and grateful for this honor. He expressed his gratitude towards PEC and towards everyone who had believed in him. Lastly, he said that, ''Hard Work really pays off, feeling grateful for the result.''
His mentors and the whole PEC Fraternity are feeling very proud of him. This outstanding accomplishment reflects Uttam's dedication, perseverance, and strong grasp of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence concepts.
