Patiala, February 29 - Arvinder Singh Baba, an employee leader serving in the security department of Punjabi University, has demanded action against the former security officer of the university, Captain Gurtej Singh, accusing him of alleged corruption. In this regard, the employee leader has also given a demand letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Patiala.
In the allegations, Arvinder Singh Baba has said that the financial losses of Punjabi University and its impoverishment are not caused by anyone else but its internal officers. In the released statement, it has been said that the illegal presence of the servants sitting in the provinces or working at their homes was found in the security department but they were paid by the university. In this regard, a letter was written by the employee leader to the Vice Chancellor, on which the Vice Chancellor formed a three-member committee. Baba says that on the basis of the report of the committee, supervisor Rupinder Singh was immediately removed from duty, but Gurtej Singh was only transferred at Talwandi Sabo (Bathinda). When Captain Gurtej Singh was contacted about these allegations, he denied these allegations and called them part of a "premeditated conspiracy". He said that "Supervisor Rupinder Singh himself admitted his guilt in this case due to which he was removed from the job but no evidence was produced against me. My transfer has nothing to do with this investigation, it is a routine departmental action of the university." . I, myself, have demanded a high-level investigation into the allegations against me." He also said that a defamation case has been filed against him. He concluded by saying that many things will become clear in the coming days.
