On Friday, SDM Hoshiarpur Sanjeev Sharma held an important meeting with various youth clubs and departmental officials. During this, SP (Headquarters) Manoj Thakur was also present with him. In this meeting, emphasis was laid on encouraging the participation of village panchayats and educational institutions to make the drug eradication campaign successful.

The SDM said that apart from village panchayats, the role of educational institutions can also be very important in drug eradication. He said that while village panchayats can use the energy of youth in villages for positive works like village development, sports and other rural development activities, educational institutions are the place where youth spend most of their time. He appealed to the officials of the education department to make the students aware of moral values ??along with education and tell them about the ill effects of drugs.
The SDM directed the counselors of de-addiction centers to organize seminars in schools and colleges. He said that through these seminars, it is necessary to make the young generation aware about the dangers of drug abuse and its ill effects. He said that continuous awareness programmes should be run in educational institutions to keep the youth away from drug abuse. Sanjeev Sharma said that in the coming time, with the cooperation of the health department and the police, the checking of medicine shops will also be increased.
He said that the cooperation of all sections of the society is necessary in the campaign to end drug abuse. He instructed all the departmental officers to work promptly to strengthen this campaign in their respective areas. During the meeting, representatives of various youth clubs, other organisations and officers shared their views about the campaign being run against drug abuse.
He said that the efforts made at the joint level have brought positive results and better success can be achieved in this direction only with the shared responsibility of all.
