Red Cross Drug Detoxification Centre, Nawanshahr celebrated World Population Day.

Nawanshahr- Red Cross Integrated Drug Victims Rehabilitation Centre, Nawanshahr and "My Young India" Unit, Nawanshahr jointly celebrated World Population Day at Baba Wazir Singh Khalsa (Girls) Senior Secondary School, Nawanshahr. Principal Jasvir Singh presided over the function. On this occasion, Project Director Chaman Singh discussed the theme of the collective 2025 "Family Planning for a Healthy Future" and said that today the world population is about 8 billion.

At the time of independence of India the population was 34 crores, but today the population of India is about 1 billion 46 crores. With the population, the needs also increase. There is a natural disruption in the production of resources. Increasing population means lack of awareness. With increasing population, there is no access to health facilities and people are not able to get education or other facilities.
Therefore, this day is celebrated to make people aware so that the population is reduced and all people get good standard of living, all amenities, facilities like education. Along with this, child marriage should be stopped in the society so that the children born get all-round development. Diseases are increasing among people due to poverty and illiteracy. On this occasion, Jaswinder Singh of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan also expressed concern over the increasing population.
Gobind Adhikari Mera Yuva Bharat shared many points to control the increasing population. S. Jasvir Singh Principal thanked everyone. On this occasion, Madam Sandeep Kaur conducted the stage which was commendable. Kamaljit Kaur Councilor, Neeraj, Lovepreet, Shivani, Neha, staff members and a large number of students were present on this occasion.
