Nawanshahr - The verdict given by the highest court of the country regarding the Bilkis Bano case is a victory for truth and is for the good of humanity. Expressing this opinion, Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon, secretary of CPI(M) Punjab, said that with this decision, the common people's faith in the judiciary has increased and communal politics has been slapped on the face. It is also worth mentioning here that the BJP-led Gujarat government pardoned eleven convicts in the cases of gang-rape and murder of the family of the minority Muslim community and released them early. Bilkis Bano, a courageous woman, fought a long battle against her atrocities and won and punished the culprits. It was only a part of the BJP's conspiracy of communalism and attacks on minorities that the BJP-led Gujarat government, violating the limits of the law, pardoned the accused and released them early. The victim Bilkis Bano again knocked the door of the Supreme Court for justice. While deciding which, the court has canceled the amnesty and ordered to send the accused to jail. Comrade Sekhon said that with this decision of the court, the confidence of the countrymen in the judiciary has increased. Communal politics has been hurt and BJP's anti-women policies have been exposed. He appealed to the people to take a lesson from this decision and unite to protect the minorities.
