Shaheed-e-Azam S. Bhagat Singh Government Industrial Training Institute, Nawanshahr celebrated “National Youth Day” dedicated to the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda ji.

Nawanshahr- Today a seminar was organized by Nasha Mukti Kendra Nawanshahr in Government ITI Nawanshahr. This seminar was presided over by S. Omkar Singh Shihmar (Principal). Addressing this seminar, Mr. Chaman Singh (Project Director) said that this day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda since 1984. First of all, he told in detail about the life of Swami Vivekananda ji. The theme of this year is “Arise, awake and feel your power”.

He said that youth are the backbone of any country. He said that all the power lies in the youth. Youth give their valuable contribution in developing the economic, social and political system of a country. But today many evils have come among the youth. Alcohol, intoxication and false pride are harming the youth. On this day, the youth of the country are expected to adopt the principles of Swami Vivekananda's values, but today's youth are getting away from their family and society due to many bad habits.
Due to which our culture, customs, language and traditions are getting extinct. We should adopt the guidance given by Swami ji in our lives and build a good society. In this seminar, Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur (Councilor) recited a poem on the theme of this day. And shared her views. Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur (Councilor) while sharing her views said that the youth should always be ready to build their good future. The youth should implement the teachings of Swami Vivekananda ji in their lives to strengthen their mental, intellectual and spiritual aspects.
Mr. Rajinder Kumar conducted the stage very well and also shared his views. On this occasion, Mr. Umkar Singh Shihmar (Principal) honored the Project Director and also thanked the Red Cross team that the youth should implement the suggestions given by them. The project director also felicitated the youth for their good performance. On this occasion, student Jasmeet Singh sang an anti-drug song and made the youth aware to stay away from drugs. On this occasion, ITI staff members Ajay Kumar, Surinderjit Singh, Jatinder Katal, Ranjit Verma, Vasdev Mall Pravesh Kumar and a large number of students were present.
