
Madi Mela: No problem will be allowed to devotees- Nikas Kumar
5 March Hoshiarpur- Additional Deputy Commissioner Nikas Kumar said that devotees from Hoshiarpur going to Madi Mela in Himachal Pradesh will not be allowed to face any kind of inconvenience. The district administration is making special arrangements for the convenience of the devotees. He was addressing a meeting of officials regarding the arrangements of the fair at the District Administrative Complex today.
5 March Hoshiarpur- Additional Deputy Commissioner Nikas Kumar said that devotees from Hoshiarpur going to Madi Mela in Himachal Pradesh will not be allowed to face any kind of inconvenience. The district administration is making special arrangements for the convenience of the devotees. He was addressing a meeting of officials regarding the arrangements of the fair at the District Administrative Complex today.
He said that Dera Baba Badbhaag Singh Holi Mela is being organized from March 7 to March 17 in Madi village of Tehsil Amb of Una district of Himachal Pradesh. A large number of devotees from all over Punjab come to this fair. In view of which extensive arrangements are being made in Hoshiarpur district.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that due to the large number of devotees coming to the fair, special attention is being paid to the traffic system. He directed the police department to keep its teams active 24 hours a day to maintain smooth traffic system on all the routes leading to Una so that the devotees do not face any kind of problem.
He appealed to the devotees not to travel in tractor-trolley, truck, canter and other heavy vehicles as such vehicles can cause accidents. Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the Regional Transport Officer to strictly check heavy vehicles and take action against overloaded vehicles. He said that devotees should not use such vehicles to avoid any kind of inconvenience.
He said that it would be mandatory to take permission from the concerned SDM for setting up langar and using loud speakers. Langar organisers were directed to set up the langar site away from the main road so that there is no hindrance in traffic. He also appealed not to use single use plastic for langar.
Nikas Kumar directed SDM Hoshiarpur and SDM Garhshankar to provide permission for langar and loud speakers on time. He issued necessary guidelines to Municipal Corporation, Public Health, Health Department, Pollution Control Department, Animal Husbandry Department, Public Works Department, Electricity Corporation and Roadways Department.
