24 dead bodies have been sent for medical research by the society - Sanjeev Arora

Hoshiarpur - Rotary Eye Bank and Corneal Transplant Society President Sanjeev Arora and Secretary Red Cross Punjab under the leadership of Shiv Dular Singh Retired IAS met them at their office Red Cross Bhavan Chandigarh. On this occasion, Principal and eminent social worker Sanjeev Arora informed them about eye donation and said that efforts are being made by Rotary Eye Bank to remove blindness for a long time.

On this occasion, Principal and eminent social worker Sanjeev Arora informed them about eye donation and said that efforts are being made by Rotary Eye Bank to remove blindness for a long time. Under which so far the society has provided sight to more than 4090 corneal blindness sufferers by implanting new eyes. Along with this, people are also being encouraged to donate their bodies after death for medical research. So far, 24 bodies have been sent to various medical colleges after death by the society and this service work will continue continuously.
On this occasion, Chairman J.B. Bahl requested Secretary Red Cross (Punjab) that if Red Cross Society and Rotary Eye Bank work together to donate eyes, society and needy people can get maximum benefit. Because the mission of both is to serve the society. Mr. Bahl said that if promotional materials and flex boards regarding eye donation are installed in all Red Cross offices of Punjab, people suffering from blindness can get the benefit. He said that if any patient suffering from corneal blindness comes from Red Cross, his operation will be done free of cost and medicines will also be given free of cost.
On this occasion, Mr. Shiv Dular Singh Dhillon (Retd.) IAS. Appreciating the work of Rotary Eye Bank, he said that brightening someone's dark life is the greatest act of charity because there is no greater donation than eye donation which has to be done after death. Sardar Dhillon assured the members of the Rotary Eye Bank that they would soon hold a meeting to discuss the issue and also assured them of full cooperation. Finally, the society honored Sardar Dhillon with a memento. Madan Lal Mahajan was also present on this occasion.
