
Health Department imparts training to Aam Aadmi Clinic doctors on non-communicable diseases, malnutrition in children and treatment of animal bites
Hoshiarpur- As per the guidelines of Punjab Government and Health Department Punjab, a district level training was imparted to the medical officers of Aam Aadmi Clinic to implement non-communicable diseases services, malnutrition in children and treatment of animal bites in Aam Aadmi Clinic under the able guidance of Civil Surgeon Dr Pawan Kumar Shagotra.

Executive Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr DP Singh, District Vaccination Officer Dr Seema Garg, District Family Welfare Officer Dr Ranjit Singh, Pediatrician Dr Rajwant Kaur, Medical Specialist Dr Manpreet Singh, District Epidemiologist Dr Shailesh Kumar, Dental Surgeon Dr Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Mass Media Officer Ramandeep Kaur, Cold Chain Officer Mr Pradeep Kumar, BEE Mr Amandeep Singh besides medical officers of Aam Aadmi Clinics across the district participated in this training.
At the beginning of the training, District Vaccination Officer Dr. Seema Garg in her address said that the aim of this training is to increase the access to health services in Aam Aadmi clinics so that no non-communicable disease patient, serious patient, mother, child is deprived of health services and care. Dr. Seema Garg shared detailed information about animal bite treatment, prevention and anti-rabies vaccine.
District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Ranjit Singh shared information about the National Program for Control and Prevention of NCDs to be started from July 1 at Aam Aadmi clinics, under which screening of hypertension, diabetes and three common cancers is included. He gave detailed information about oral cancer screening and prostate cancer.
He said that Aam Aadmi clinics must have all the necessary equipment for oral cancer screening. Dr. Sandeep Kumar Dumana explained the causes of oral cancer, facilities and support provided by the government for screening and treatment.
Dr. Rajwant Kaur gave information about the causes, prevention and treatment of moderate and severe malnutrition in children and said that malnutrition is one of the causes of deaths of children up to 5 years of age. Therefore, counseling of parents is very important to protect children from malnutrition so that they give the right nutritious food to their children at the right time. Case studies related to the treatment of malnutrition were also discussed.
Medical Specialist Dr. Manpreet Singh explained in detail about the symptoms and treatment of hypertension and diabetes. On this occasion, all the participants were honored with certificates.
