Patiala, November 1: Punjab Day has been established only after years of struggle and sacrifices by Punjabis. History is a witness that all the invaders or raiders who came to India from time to time, they first entered India through Dewdhi of Punjab, due to which it has the status of the sword arm of India. Currently, 6700 languages are spoken in the world, in which Punjabi has the 13th rank, but it is sad to say that from time to time, political tricks have not only divided the Punjabi language and script, but also cut the geographical boundaries of Punjab. due to which at present the 'Great Punjab' has become a small 'Subi'. These words are expressed here by Shiromani Punjabi Children's Literature Writer, State Awardee and Sahitya Akademi Children's Literature Award Winner Dr. Darshan Singh Asht, who is also the president of Punjabi Sahitya Sabha (Reg.) Patiala, did. Dr. Aasht Speaking to all the Punjabis on the 57th anniversary of Punjab Day, shared more details with reference to Punjabi language and said that after 1947 only 38% of Punjabi speaking areas remained in Indian Punjab. Pakistan On November 1, when the establishment of Punjab province was announced, its vast body was cut off and Himachal Pradesh and then Haryana were formed from it. Not only this, Chandigarh was built by depopulating 28 villages of Puadh area of Punjab. But today the area of Punjab has remained only 14% and feels deprived of its rights. The period of bullying with Punjab and the Punjabi dialect here is not over yet.
Dr. Aasht said that the significance of Punjab Day can be maintained only if all CBSE, ICSC established on the soil of Punjab. Punjabi mother tongue should be implemented as primary education in boards and convent schools, it should be made employment oriented. He also demanded that by conducting multifaceted competitions for children in their own mother tongue, they should be given due respect and awards like other writers and the use of Punjabi language should be ensured in offices so that it can develop multifaceted.
