Chandigarh: A large number of women and youth are not voting in Haryana. The Election Commission has given a bumper offer
to encourage them to register their names in the voter list.
Three laptops, smart phones and 100 pen drives will be given as gifts to the youth and women who vote from October 1 to
December 9. T-shirts will also be given to the new voters. The prize draw will be done on the basis of the voter list to be
published on January 5. According to the statistics, there are more than four lakh youths of 18 to 19 years of age in Haryana, out
of which only one lakh 72 thousand have registered their names in the voter list. If we talk about women, the number of women
is between 800 and 900 for every one thousand male voters in Nuh, Gurugram and Palwal. The reason for the lack of female
voters in Gurugram and Faridabad is the arrival of men from other countries in search of employment. Forms will be filled as a
new voter from the youth above 18 years of age studying in schools and colleges. Awareness campaign will be conducted in
schools and colleges.
