
Four farmers in the district have been fined and issued red entries for burning paddy stubble.
Karnal, October 1:- Deputy Director of Agriculture, Dr. Wazir Singh, stated that FIRs have been filed against four farmers in the district for stubble burning. Fines have been collected from all four farmers as per regulations, and a red entry has been made on their records on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal.

Fines have been collected from all four farmers as per regulations, and a red entry has been made on their records on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal. Consequently, these farmers will not be able to sell their crops at MSP for the next two seasons. He stated that all four farmers are from the Gharaunda block of the district. An FIR has been filed against farmer Jasmer, a resident of village Kaimla, for setting fire to paddy stubble in his fields in the village of Malikpur. An FIR has been registered at the concerned police station against farmers Dinesh Kumar, Surjeet, resident of Furlak, and Vicky, son of Rajkumar, resident of village Bijna, for setting fire to paddy stubble. He stated that, as every year, the Deputy Commissioner has formed district-level, block-level, tehsil-level, and village-level enforcement teams to prevent incidents of arson. Approximately 750 officers and employees have been deployed in these teams, who will not only prevent incidents of arson but also take action as per the rules. The district administration and agriculture department are fully vigilant regarding crop residue management.
Dr. Wazir Singh urged farmers not to set fire to crop residue. They should properly manage the stubble using agricultural machinery and pay Rs. 1,200. Receive incentives per fort. Farmers are being advised to use agricultural machinery for crop residue management.
